Take the deposit on the proposal, with Razorpay
Story of a Trip is where a travel agent sends a proposal the client can accept and pay for from one link. Agents connect their own Razorpay account, so the deposit goes to them, not through us.
How it works
- 1Connect your Razorpay accountPaste your Razorpay Key ID and Key Secret in Payments. We keep the secret encrypted. The money goes straight to your Razorpay account.
- 2Set your depositChoose a percentage or a fixed amount, and write the note your client sees next to it.
- 3Send the proposalYour client opens one branded link, reads the trip and accepts the terms.
- 4They pay the deposit on the pageRazorpay Checkout opens over the proposal. We check Razorpay's signature on every payment before marking it paid.
- 5The booking moves forwardYou are notified, the payment shows against the trip, and your follow-up tasks complete. Choose whether the booking confirms on acceptance or only once the deposit is paid.
What we do and do not handle
- The agent's Razorpay account receives the payment. Story of a Trip never holds client funds.
- We do not store card details. Payment is taken in Razorpay Checkout.
- Every payment is verified against Razorpay's signature before it is recorded.
- Each acceptance records who accepted, when, which version of the proposal and the exact terms shown.
- Agents can use Stripe instead, for clients paying in other currencies.
