Free travel photo finder for proposals and itineraries

Search free travel photos by place or mood. Each result comes with the photographer's credit, ready to copy into your proposal.

Why a proposal needs its own photos

A proposal with photos of the exact hotel, the right beach and the neighbourhood the client will walk through sells the trip before the price is read. Stock photos of the right mood do the same job when you do not have the supplier's own pictures.

Search by place for the destination, or by feeling for the cover: sunrise, rooftops, street food, quiet beach. Short, concrete words give better results than long sentences.

Using the photos properly

Every photo here comes from Unsplash or Pexels, and both licences allow free use, including commercial use, without asking. Crediting the photographer is not always required, but it is the decent thing to do and it protects you. Use the copy button and paste the line under the picture or in the footer.

Do not use a photo to suggest a specific hotel, room or restaurant that it does not show. If the client is booking a particular property, ask the supplier for their own images or use the property's licensed press photos.

From search to finished proposal

Story of a Trip has the same photo search built into the proposal editor, so a picture goes from search to the right section in one click, with the credit kept. It also lets you save the images you reuse most in your own library.

Questions

Are these photos really free to use?

Yes. They come from Unsplash and Pexels, and both licences allow free use, including commercial use, without asking permission. Crediting the photographer is kind and recommended.

Can I use them in a proposal I sell to a client?

Yes. Using a photo to illustrate a destination or a mood in a client document is allowed. Do not use it to show a specific hotel or room it does not depict, and do not resell the photo itself as a file.

How many searches can I do?

Enough for normal use: a few dozen a day without an account. A limit keeps the tool free for everyone.

Does the tool store my searches?

We do not keep a record of who searched for what. Results for a search term are cached for a short time so repeat searches are fast.

Why are there so few photos for a small village?

Free libraries have fewer pictures of lesser-known places. Search the region or country instead, or use a mood word such as vineyard, harbour or old town.
